Šibenik
Šibenik is one of the oldest croatian cities by the sea, located in central Dalmatia where the Krka river flows into the Adriatic sea. Today, Šibenik is the center of Šibenik - Knin county with a population of around 52000.
The most famous building is St. Jacob's chatedral. This chatedral was built in the 15th and 16th century, and was added to UNESCO's World Heritage List in 2001.
The whole region enjoys a Mediterranean climate with long, hot summers and mild winters. The relief is characterised by a very indented coastline and many islands.




Near Šibenik there are National park Krka (10 km from Šibenik) and National park Kornati (20 km from Šibenik). The Krka river is one of the most beautiful croatian rivers, with beautiful falls, lakes, caves, many plant and animal species. Kornati includes about 150 great and small marvellous islands in the blue sea rich with fishes, mussels, corals and many other organisms. These two national parks are some of the most atractive and famous tourist destinations in Croatia.




Brodarica
Brodarica is a village located 5 km south of Šibenik with a population of 3000. The main occupation of the inhabitans is tourism. The culture and hystorical center of Brodarica is Krapanj island (the lowest and most populated island in the Mediterranean sea), only 300 m away from Brodarica. Krapanj is famous for its sponge diving and harvesting. 1 km away from Brodarica there is Solaris, one of the most popular croatian hotel settlements.
